Mike’s worked in the Columbia Valley since the mid-1980s. He knows the growers (Champoux, Klipsun and Ciel du Cheval are just three of the top vineyards in this wine), and the growers know Mike’s track record for Cabernet: Wine Advocate gave the 2003 vintage 94 pts.; the 1999, 2001 and 2002 each earned 92 pts; and the 2004 vintage 91 pts. Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon; 8% Merlot; 5% Cabernet Franc

| In addition to his own wines, Mike makes wine for Novelty Hill. The two independent wineries share a production facility and tasting room in Woodinville. Januik wines are made from a collection of top-flight Columbia Valley vineyards; Novelty Hill relies primarily on grapes from its estate vineyard, Stillwater Creek, acclaimed in its own right. |
